Other rock royalty in attendance included McCartney’s lone surviving Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr, Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham, the Eagles’ Joe Walsh and Thirty Seconds to Mars’ Jared Leo. An insider tells Us Weekly that Depp and Heard, 27, who recently got engaged, were in very good spirits. “The two of them looked so happy together,” the source says. “They walked in holding hands and [Depp] led her through the restaurant.” (Depp is an accomplished guitar player having previously rocked out with The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards. After the dinner party, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor took part in a charity concert at Servite Catholic School in Anaheim, Calif.)

McCartney and Nirvana’s Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear won the Best Rock Song for “Cut Me Some Slack” at the 2014 Grammys. Backstage, McCartney told reporters that longtime friend Depp is the one who inspired the song. “I blame Johnny Depp because he had just given me this little cigar box guitar that I was widely excited to play,” he said. “It was magic for me to play with these guys. I didn’t know who they were. I found myself in the middle of a Nirvana reunion and I was very happy.”
