For Kelly Rowland‘s 33rd birthday, Beyonce was the one bowing down — to let her best pal jump on her back, that is! The lifelong friends got together to celebrate the anniversary of the “Motivation” crooner’s birth, which was officially on Feb. 11, and Queen Bey snapped some candid pics for her tumblr page.
“Happy Birthday Sis!” the mother of 2-year-old Blue Ivy Carter captioned beside pictures of the festivities, which also including the Grammy winner’s actual sister, Solange Knowles.
The pals celebrated with a fondue buffet and a giant gold cake topped with an elephant. A photo of the spread reveals the official event name was “Kelly’s Liquid Gold Fondue Party” and featured a variety of fondue dipping options including grilled chicken, filet mignon, crab ravioli, and fried tempura.
Rowland and co. kept their attire casual, with the birthday girl wearing an Iron Maiden graphic tank top and jeans and the “Partition” crooner in leather leggings and a black sweatshirt with the word “Angel” crossed out as a nod to her new song “No Angel.” Bey’s bestie recently chopped off her long locks into a sleek chin-length bob, which she paired with natural makeup to accent her flawless features.
Bey and Rowland have been friends since childhood, and have been spending plenty of time together lately. The pals were spotted at an array of birthday parties — including ones for Beyonce’s husband Jay Z, her mother Tina Knowles, and daughter Blue Ivy — all within the last three months.
Rowland’s bash appeared to be a ladies only affair, and Beyonce didn’t post any photos featuring her Rowland’s fiance Tim Witherspoon. Witherspoon proposed to the Destiny’s Child bandmate via Skype in late 2013.
