Meet the Parents star Teri Polo is facing some serious financial problems. The actress, 44, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week, TMZ reported Tuesday, April 22.
Polo's filing apparently claims she's nearly a million dollars in debt. She says in court documents that she owes roughly $772,000 in back taxes to the IRS, and more than $36,000 in credit card bills, according to TMZ.
Best known as Ben Stiller's fiancee (and, in sequels, his wife) in the Meet the Parents trilogy, Polo had a recurring role on The West Wing from 2005 to 2006. She has also guest-starred on shows including Castle, Criminal Minds, and Law & Order: LA. Since 2013, she has played the lead in ABC Family's The Fosters.
A rep for the actress had no comment.
