The show stoppers are officially back! Sources confirm to Us Weekly that Danity Kane will be announcing their reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Aug. 25.
The ladies — Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard, and Audrea Fimbres — couldn't help but share the news themselves just after midnight via Instagram and Twitter before the big show. "DANITY KANE is officially BACK! @danitykane #vmas2013 #Rage," O'Day wrote.
The members also changed their default photos to the "DK" gold logo and showed off their new Danity Kane style — scantily clad black ensembles, blunt hairstyles and heavy eye makeup.
The girl group was formed by Diddy on the third season of MTV's Making the Band in 2005 and received two certified platinum albums for 2006's Danity Kane and 2008's Welcome to the Dollhouse. The band went their separate ways in 2009, but recently caused quite the buzz when they reunited for lunch without their former manager in May. When asked by TMZ if they were working with Diddy, 43, on their reunion, O'Day quickly replied, "Who's that?"
Indeed, a comeback was on the way and the ladies will be making the announcement at the VMAs pre-show.
The MTV Video Music Awards air live on Sunday, Aug. 25, at 9 p.m. EST.
