After a fatal car crash took the life of Grammy-award winning art director Ian Cuttler Sala, Beyonce took to her official Facebook page to pay tribute to her former collaborator.
“Rest in Peace Ian Cuttler,” she wrote next to a photo of the late art director. “Ian was a Grammy Award winning art director and photographer who will be greatly missed. His memorable work includes album covers for ‘Destiny Fulfilled’ and ‘Dangerously in Love’.”
Sala, who was 43 at the time of his death, was a passenger in the Ford GT sports car driven by Sami Hayek — the brother of actress Salma Hayek — when it collided with a 2011 Toyota Tacoma truck on Sunset Boulevard on Sunday, Feb. 23.
Hayek, 40, survived the crash after losing control of his car, and was treated for several broken ribs in Los Angeles. The truck drive broke his left foot in the crash.
Sala won a Grammy in 2006 for his work on Johnny Cash: The Legend box set, and in addition to Beyonce, had worked with Mariah Carey, Marc Anthony, and Billy Joel.
No charges have been filed so far in the crash.
