What came first: the chicken or the egg? In Lady Gaga's case, the egg. After arriving to the 2011 Grammys inside a giant egg, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before the 27-year-old singer would dress up like a chicken — and now it's finally happened.
In Berlin, Germany on Thursday, Oct. 24, Gaga stepped out wearing a massive U-shaped furry mask with a shiny gold beak. To complete her chicken costume, the "Applause" singer wore a bright yellow dress with brown fur sleeves and black sky-high platform boots.
Gaga is currently in Germany to promote her third studio album, ARTPOP. "I'll be debuting a new song in every territory I travel to over the next 3 weeks! An exclusive for each country!" she tweeted on Wednesday. "Any guesses for Berlin?" She later revealed the track, writing, "2day at AMPYA ARTPOP listening party in Germany I'll perform the world premiere of 'Gypsy' at the piano! Stream it tonight around the world!"
Earlier this week, Gaga went on a Twitter rant about her career that appeared to be her not-so-subtle way of promoting her latest single, "Do What U Want." She wrote, "APPLAUSE didn't DEBUT AT #1! KATY IS BETTER THAN HER! #UWontUseMyMind I write for the music not the charts . . . MADONNA HATES GAGA SHES OVER youtube.com/watch?v=emGPMi . . . i dont need anybodys permission to be remembered. I will be."
