Aaron Carter‘s bringing his party back to 2000 when he beat Shaq and when the apple of his eye was Disney teen sensation Hilary Duff. The couple — back in their child star days — dated for almost three years before they split after rumors of Carter cheating on Duff with Disney rival Lindsay Lohan.
Fast forward to 2014 when Duff, 26, and her retired NHL player hubby Mike Comrie announced their separation after three years of marriage.
And it looks like the former pop sensation is looking to win back his Disney princess. After retweeting a present-day photo Duff, Carter tweeted, “Don’t be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me…”
Fans quickly replied, some excited and some skeptical of the crooner’s intentions.
“I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her,” Carter, 26, continued. “I don’t care what ANY of you think.”
And it doesn’t seem like the Carter is taking his tweets lightly. “That tweet just gave me an anxiety attack,” he wrote. “People who have no idea who I am and/or what I’ve been through. If you’re that interested watch my interviews or google me.”
Duff hasn’t responded to any of Carter’s advances on social media. And though she announced her separation in January, she has remained close with husband Comrie, 33, with whom she shares son Luca, 23 months.
The family of three was last spotted hanging out together on Valentine’s Day in a photo that Duff called her “modern family.”
