Nineteen kids and five grandchildren means a whole slew of birthday love for mama!
19 Kids and Counting matriarch Michelle Duggar celebrated her 49th birthday on Sunday, Sept. 13. And naturally, her huge brood made sure to wish her their very best, starting with pregnant daughter Jessa Duggar.
Smiling into the camera, Jessa, 22, who’s expecting her first child with husband Ben Seewald, told her mom via video, “Happy birthday, Mom. I love you so much!’ She added, “As Ben and I are looking forward to being parents in the next couple of months, I just think there are so many things that I’ve learned from you that I’m looking to implement in my own home.”
One of those things? Michelle’s zen attitude in any situation. “You’re very patient with the kids!” Jessa shared. “Even if they’re acting up or doing something wrong, you’re very calm in how you handle it.”
In a second video, 19-year-old Josiah Duggar said, “Thank you…for believing in me and giving me a safe space to share with you. I really do look up to you, and I can’t imagine having a different mom.”
Jana and Joy-Anna Duggar teamed up for a quick clip, in which Jana called Michelle her “hero.” “I hope to be like you someday,” Jana said, while Joy-Anna finished, “We love you!”
Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, shared the screen with their 5-month old son, Israel. While Derick said that he was, “so blessed to have the best mother-in-law in the world,” Jill, 24, hoisted up their son and said, “Israel loves you, too. He says, ‘Happy birthday, Grandma, I love you!'”
And finally, Michelle’s husband of 31 years, Jim Bob, shared his own special message: “I love you so much. You’re such a godly mother, and such a wonderful wife. You really are a virtuous woman… You have the sweetest spirit of almost any woman in the world.”
Noticeably missing from the roundup: Josh Duggar, who, after his molestation and cheating scandals, is currently completing a stint in rehab at the Reformers Unanimous Center in Rockford, Ill.
