It wouldn’t be a Vogue cover story without a (delightful!) Mean Girls confession. In another excerpt from the fashion bible’s polarizing April issue interview, Kim Kardashian gushes to editor-at-large and writer Hamish Bowles about her mom Kris Jenner‘s always-enviable wardrobe. When she and her sisters Kourtney and Khloe were little girls in the 80s, the reality superstar says, Jenner, now 56, would “always wear really tight—she was into Vicky Tiel, Moschino, or Chanel—-with huge Moschino heart earrings. She had an amazing body and was always so in shape,” Kanye West‘s fiancee marvels.
There was a darker side to the Kardashian kids’ fashion envy, too, Kim reveals. “One time Kourtney and I sat in my mom’s closet–we must’ve been eight or nine–and we were like, ‘If Mom dies, we’re going to write down who gets what.'”
And, well, they did just that! “We went through every last piece of her wardrobe,” Kim reveals. “We were so mean then!”
Modern-day Jenner herself — with whom Kim, Kanye and baby North currently live — makes an appearance in the cover story, too. Called “agelessly glamorous” and “apricot-skinned” with “fluttering eyelashes as thick, long, and lustrous as a hummingbird’s wings” by Bowles, Jenner is a gracious hostess. “Anybody need anything?” she asks. “Water? Vodka? Get on my train! Just kidding!”
“Her home office is stacked with Kardashian product and magazine spreads,” Bowles writes. “There is even a framed copy of her estranged husband Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner’s 1979 GQ cover.”
