Paul Walker’s Family “Appreciates the Outpouring of Love” After Actor’s Death

In the wake of his death, Paul Walker's family released a statement thanking the actor's fans and friends for the "outpouring of love and goodwill."

In the wake of Paul Walker's tragic death, his family is working to keep his memory alive. On Monday, Dec. 2, the Walker family released a statement on the late actor's Facebook page sharing where fans can make donations in his honor.

"Paul Walker's family appreciates the outpouring of love and goodwill from his many fans and friends," the statement read. "They have asked, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, that donations please be made to Paul's charity Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW). Donations can easily be made through their website at http://www.ROWW.org/."

"It's comforting for them to know that the son, brother, and father they love so much is equally adored, respected, and appreciated by so many," the statement continued. "Paul founded the organization with the genuine desire to help others, and it's important to his family to keep his memory alive through ROWW."

Walker, 40, and his pal, Roger Rodas, were killed Saturday, Nov. 30 in a car crash. The accident occurred shortly after the Fast and Furious star co-hosted a charity event for ROWW to raise money for victims affected by the typhoon in the Philippines. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fatal crash, and Rich Pena of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau told Us Weekly on Monday that they are "focusing on speed as the cause of the accident."

Walker is survived by father Paul Walker III, mother Cheryl Walker, brothers Cody and Caleb, sister Ashley and 15-year-old daughter Meadow. The actor's only child with ex-girlfriend Rebecca McBrain recently moved in with him in California. While speaking to reporters on Monday, Paul Walker III said, "Meadow is taking it really tough. "[But] she has family around her and some very, very loving friends. They're all close. There's a lot of hugging, a lot of hand-holding."
