Back on form! Over a year after Tracy Morgan survived a fatal car crash which left him with horrific injuries, the much-loved comedian was back on Saturday Night Live — and his return was an epic one.
Morgan, who suffered broken ribs, a broken nose, and a broken leg when a Walmart truck hit his limo bus back in June 2014, was back on the SNL stage on Saturday, Oct. 17, and his former 30 Rock costars Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer were there to help him mark the landmark moment.

Making light of his injuries, Morgan started the evening off with a self effacing monologue. “People were wondering, ‘Can he speak? Does he have 100 percent mental capacity?’ But the truth is I never did,” the 46-year-old star said as he opened the show. “I might actually be a few points higher now,” he added.
Morgan thanked his comedy family — including SNL creator Lorne Michaels who Morgan called his “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and revealed he’d reached out to the TV great a couple of months ago. “I said, ‘Lorne, when I get back on my feet, I want to come home,’ and here I am,” he added.
The funnyman then set up a bit which he claimed was a “prophetic” moment from a 2012 30 Rock, where his character was nearly killed, and the crowd went wild as his former costars Fey, Baldwin, Krakoswki and McBrayer joined him for his hilarious SNL return.

After joining her pal on stage, Fey took a moment out for some uncharacteristically serious words.
“I just want to say one last thing, Tracy, from the heart and this part is no joke. We’re so happy that you’re okay and we’re happier that you’re ready to make people laugh again,” she said.

“As you can see, everything is going to be just fine,” replied Morgan, ready to bring the mood back up. “So let’s be funny!”
