Girl's had a stressful few weeks! NeNe Leakes was the latest celebrity sent packing on the April 28 episode of Dancing with the Stars — and it turns out that Real Housewives of Atlanta star had to tape the epic, drama-packed reunion for the Bravo smash in between rehearsals for the ABC dance competition. "It was tough!" Leakes, 46, told reporters backstage. "I had to fly back [to Atlanta] to do the reunion and dance at the same time, Tony [Dovolani] had to go there with me – so that was tough . . . staying in a positive place is tough."
While Porsha Williams' tussle with Kenya Moore (which led to Williams' arrest) grabbed the lion's share of reunion-related headlines, Leakes had her own moment in part two of the reunion, which aired on Sunday. The Glee actress not only defended Williams but also had it out with former BFF Cynthia Bailey. According to Leakes, there's little chance of a reconciliation following their season six fallout. "I think that's a done deal for me. I think that our friendship was great," Leakes told Us Weekly of the model and modeling agency head. "I feel like I was a great friend to her, I honestly think she was a great friend for me, I just think that our friendship has come to an end. It's run its course."
Will Leakes return for season seven? "There's a lot of hesitation," she admitted. "I feel like when I began my journey on Real Housewives of Atlanta, it was more positive. People tuned in to see fashion and fabulousness—never pulling hair or belittling or being super negative. I can't even believe how it's changed."
In the meantime, post-DWTS and post-reunion fallout, Leakes is looking for some R&R—and so is her husband, Gregg Leakes. "I haven't had any time with her! " he told reporters. "I'm going to do special things for her!"
