Resurrection Preview: Omar Epps Reunites Boy Presumed Dead With Family

On the series premiere of ABC’s Resurrection, the shaken residents of Arcadia, Miss., are slowly starting to believe the impossible. Thirty-two years after an 8-year-old boy is presumed dead after falling into a river in an attempt to save a drowning family member, the child suddenly winds up in a Chinese province remembering his name, hometown and little else.

Calling himself Jacob, the boy (Landon Gimenez) befriends immigration agent J. Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps) and urges Bellamy to return him to his hometown: Arcadia. As the preview video clip above illustrates, those supposedly close to the boy are stunned at the realization that this youngster just might be their relative.

Thinking it’s a neighbor returning a borrowed tool, Jacob’s father, Henry Langston (Kurtwood Smith), hurries to answer his doorbell and is stunned to see Agent Bellamy on the other side. “Did your son go missing? I have him. He’s OK,” Bellamy explains to a skeptical Langston in the video clip. “That would be unlikely, because my son died 32 years ago,” Langston replies.

Omar Epps reunites Jacob, a young boy presumed long dead, with his family on the series premiere of ABC’s Resurrection.

As Bellamy begins to backtrack thinking he’s offended Langston as the result of a horrible misunderstanding, the gentleman notices young Jacob peering through to the doorway. Later, in a shocking turn of events, the boy stuns Langston when asking him to provide the punchline to a joke only the two understand.
