Savannah’s St. Patty’s’ Day Surprise! Today Show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie got married to longtime love Mike Feldman over the weekend — and is pregnant! Guthrie, 42, made the double-whammy announcement live on the Monday, March 17 episode of the NBC morning show.
“I — well, we — are four months pregnant,” Guthrie revealed at the desk surrounded by Matt Lauer, Natalie Morales, Willie Geist and Al Roker. “We are so excited, overjoyed and feel so blessed.”
She says that she and communications strategist Feldman, 45, wed this past Saturday near her hometown of Tucson, Ariz. “in the middle of the desert.” But she explained that they had set their wedding date before learning that they were expecting. “It’s funny, ’cause we set the wedding date, I bought my dress, and then I found out,” Guthrie said. “So I’ve been doing a little praying that I would fit in it, and it all worked out.”
Now in her second trimester, she added: “I feel great, and actually I’m so happy to tell the world,” she said. “Because I can’t suck in this gut any more.”
Sharing wedding photos from the happy day during the broadcast, the newlywed said that the wedding was “everything I could have dreamed.” Her TV colleagues were all on hand in Tuscon to watch Guthrie, in a Monique Lhuillier A-line belted gown, become Mrs. Feldman, with all conspiring to keep the nuptials a big secret.
“You were a beautiful bride,” Lauer said.
“At one point after the ceremony, the sun was setting on one side, the other, we’re talking about a full moon. It was beautiful,” Roker chimed in.
Guthrie announced her engagement last May, flashing her engagement ring on-air and via Twitter. They’ve been dating for over four years. “No one will accuse us of rushing into anything,” she cracked at the time.
