What to expect when you’re… partying in Hollywood! The stars will descend, eat, mingle, and dance the night away on Sunday, Feb. 2 — and likely into the wee hours of Monday — after the winners are announced at the 2014 Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre. From Elton John‘s viewing party to Vanity Fair‘s annual bash, here’s Us Weekly‘s sneak peek of the night’s most VIP gatherings.

The Governors Ball
This party is the Academy’s official post-Oscars celebration, with nine-time Grammy winner John Legend serving as the headliner performer.

Who to Expect: Most of 2014’s winners and Oscar nominees including Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hanks, Lupita Nyong’o

Inside the Party: Celeb chef Wolfgang Puck, who has catered the event annually 1994, started planning the menu back in December. Puck told Vogue his staff of 900 will begin cooking at 6 a.m. Sunday morning to create a total of 16,000 individual dishes. “The Board of Governors loves the chicken potpie. So does Barbra Streisand,” he said. “Win or lose, I’m going to make Bradley Cooper a steak,” he added.

And to go with that steak? Repeat performer, award-winning Sterling Vineyards, will once again provide the libations poured at the Oscars telecast and the Governors Ball.

Vanity Fair
Over the years, the mag’s annual fete has established itself as the “unofficial” after party of the evening. Now in its twenty-first year, the biggest question ahead of this year’s bash is whether or not Gwyneth Paltrow — who seem to have mended fences with editor-in-chief Graydon Carter after a bitter feud — will attend.
