Liam Neeson Was Filming a Sex Scene for Woody Allen When Soon-Yi Previn Scandal Broke

Liam Neeson reveals in the new issue of GQ that he was filming a sex scene for Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives when the Soon-Yi Previn scandal broke

Awkward doesn’t even begin to cover this. Liam Neeson was filming a sex scene for Woody Allen‘s 1992 movie Husbands and Wives when the director learned that his longtime partner Mia Farrow had discovered his nude photos of her then-20-year-old adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, the Taken 2 actor reveals in the April issue of GQ magazine.

“There was one incident — people think I’ve made this up, but no. There’s a scene where I’m going down on Judy Davis, right. Judy and I are in bed — obviously covered up — and as I’m going down, Judy’s having this monologue in her head,” Neeson, 61, explains. “And the crew are all ready, and we’re waiting for Woody. No-show.”

“It’s starting to get a bit uncomfortable — it’s a bed scene,” the actor continues. “Anyway, he came out after about 20 minutes and said, ‘Okay. Camera starts on Judy. Liam, I want to just see the top of your head. Okay, we know where you’re going…’ So there was no apology; nothing.”

Neeson later learned that Allen was late because his lawyer had gotten in touch with him about the Soon-Yi Previn scandal. (Incidentally, Allen’s character in Husbands and Wives also had an affair with a much-younger woman, played by Juliette Lewis.) Aside from that one incident, however, working with Allen was “a good experience,” Neeson tells GQ. “There was a lull; a quiet came over the set when he came on.”

The Irish star also opens up to the magazine about life with his two sons after the death of wife Natasha Richardson, who passed away at age 45 in 2009 following a skiing accident in Canada. “It’s still a day-to-day thing, you know?” he says, noting that he worries constantly about his kids getting into drugs. “My boys are teenagers. They’re experimenting…You think, ‘F–k. If Tasha was here, someone could share this.’ But yeah, we’re doing all right, you know?”

As for whether he’s ready to date again? “I’m keeping myself to myself,” he tells GQ. “And I like it that way. I’m not hunting. I’m the opposite of a — what would a male cougar be? Is there such a thing? Whatever it is, I’m not that.”
