The likely story is that Jolie, 38, was unaware that there was any makeup malfunction at all.

“What looks perfect in normal lighting can appear totally different when you have the harsh lights of flashing cameras on you,” Mark celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg tells Us Weekly. “Many women think you can just touch up with any powder for a red carpet event, but all powders have different finishing textures.”

Jolie’s Monday night makeup debacle wasn’t her first offense. On May 9, white powder was also visible on her legs at a photo call in London.

“If you use a powder that’s super fine and you don’t fully blend it, you can easily get the dreaded powder face, especially when you’re photographed,” Greenberg tells Us. “It happens more often than you’d believe. It was a bummer for Angelina, but hey, maybe she can start a new trend!”
