The wrath of Wahlberg! The world may be filled with 1D fans, but Mark Wahlberg isn’t one of them. During an appearance on Conan on Thursday, Jan. 9, the actor joked that he wants to rough Harry Styles up a bit because his daughters like him too much.
“The girls have turned to One Direction, and it’s like they don’t care about dad anymore,” the star told host Conan O’Brien. “My 4-year-old’s going ‘Daddy, I like Harry.’ And I’m like, ‘Well I’m gonna punch Harry in the nose when I see him.'” (Wahlberg and his wife Rhea Durham are parents to daughters Ella, 10, and Grace, 4, and sons Michael, 7, and Brendan, 5.)
“She pulls out pictures of him, and she’s hiding pictures in the room, and I pretend that I’m gonna rip them up and I get jealous,” he continued. “But if I see that little prick, he’s gonna get it.”
Wahlberg, 42, even has a plan on how he would corner the British boy bander — he would invite him to his Transformers 4 premiere! “I could say, ‘Hey I really want to meet One Direction, I’m a big fan,'” he said. “Maybe you can do the title track for the song, and then I would beat the crap out of them in a video.”
When asked if he would lure them into a room for the brawl, Wahlberg quipped back, “Probably all of them, actually.”
Though Styles, 19, may eventually end up black and blue, Wahlberg sincerely does hope to introduce his daughters to the “Story of My Life” singer one day. “I’d rather do it now. My oldest is 10, and she’s into them as well — and that’ll be the only time I’ll ever introduce them to a boy.”
He joked, “After that, they’re getting locked up. It’s Rapunzel time.”
