Teen Mom 2 recap

That’s a wrap, folks! Teen Mom 2 ended its sixth season on Thursday, Sept. 24, in an emotional episode. Leah Messer’s three children were overjoyed to see their mom come home from her monthlong stint in rehab and, at least for the time being, the West Virginia native looked happy and healthy.

But things didn’t stay that way for long. Here’s where all of the girls ended up:

It’s time for Chelsea’s happily ever after to begin. Despite her daughter, Aubree, being very sick with a 102.2 degree fever, Chelsea was thrilled to finally have her longtime boyfriend, Cole DeBoer, move in.

“It’s been a long-ass week,” Chelsea said to Cole. “You get to experience first-hand how fun it is having a sick child. Once you move in, like hopefully, then we’ll live together forever.”

“Yeah, it’s weird, but cool,” the soft-spoken Cole replied.

No one was more excited than Aubree, who even did a happy dance as Cole drove up with this stuff — which ended up being like five plaid shirts and a suitcase.

“Tell him the rule,” Chelsea told Aubree.

“You put the toilet seat down!” Aubree shouted, giggling.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s ex and Aubree’s dad Adam Lind was still living under the delusion that he was a good parent. When his friend asked him what he did for Father’s Day, he replied, “Not much.” Try nothing at all, Adam. Like not even answering your daughter’s phone calls! No, we’re not bitter … not at all.

Out of jail and hoping to move forward, Jenelle was a free woman. Well, sort of.

“I just don’t want anything to do with him,” the mother of two told her relieved mom, Barbara, about her ex Nathan Griffith

“Oh, thank God,” Babs replied. “I’m proud of you. You finally came to your senses.”

But Nathan was still trying to weasel his way back into her life after reporting her to the police.

“I never pressed charges in the first place!” Nathan claimed. “I just wanted a temporary restraining order until you calmed down.”

“How am I supposed to calm down when you bring that girl here to pick up Kaiser?” Jenelle asked Nathan of his new girlfriend. “You’d freak out too.”

Nathan, however, seemed like he still wanted to be with Jenelle, despite all of their drama.

“It wasn’t a freaking competition for me,” he insisted. “You just needed to change your attitude.”

“Then why did you need her there?” Jenelle asked.

“Because she’s an awesome girl,” he said. “I told you it was unexpected, I wasn’t trying to see anybody.”

Thankfully, Jenelle wasn’t falling for Nathan’s act any more. After he left she attended her son Jace’s kindergarten graduation ceremony with Barbara. The pair had a discussion about custody and managed not to yell once!

“I’m glad you were here to help me through all of this,” Jenelle said. “I look back and realize he would be in a foster home [if it weren’t for you].”

“I’m glad you realize that, Jenelle, because it’s been a long haul, and I never took him away from you because I wanted to,” Barbara replied. “It was something that had to be. We’ve just got to move on in the future and work together as a team.” Could this be a new leaf for the Evans women?

Though Kailyn and her husband, Javi Marroquin, were kicking off life in their new house successfully, things weren’t going as smoothly between Kailyn and her ex Jo Rivera. After Jo’s tardiness forced Isaac to miss his soccer game and the dad also failed to show up for Isaac’s kindergarten graduation, Kailyn decided to take him to court.

“I didn’t know it was a graduation. I didn’t know it was a ceremony,” Jo insisted. “Do you want me to hop in a f—king time machine and fix it? No, so shut up! I can’t take care of my son if I can’t f—king take care of myself.”

“You’re about to have a baby, so you’d better get it together,” Kailyn replied. “If you can’t afford it, why not get a job?”

But Jo didn’t seem interested in that idea.

“Yeah it’s always possible for me to get a job,” he said. “But when [Isaac]’s here for a week, he’s not going to be able to be with me. I’m not going to be able to spend my time with him. Every f—king moment of it, because that’s what I do.”

“Can you understand how that’s hard for me to see when you’re missing huge things?” Kailyn asked, adding, “I feel like I have to do the legal stuff now.”

Later Javi assured her that she had done the right thing, saying, “I don’t feel bad for him at all anymore. And I hope he doesn’t have you feeling bad either. He’s not struggling financially, I don’t want to hear that. He’s lazy he doesn’t want to get a job.”

“I’m going to college full time, taking a full load of classes so I can get a job,” Kailyn agreed. Looks like Jo’s got a court case coming!

After a month away from her girls, Leah was ready to come home. But her ex-husband Corey Simms wasn’t exactly thrilled to be giving his twin daughters, Ali and Aleeah, back to their mom.

“It’s sad to watch these kids. They’ve been through so much in five years, it’s insane,” Corey said. “I guess we’ll go back to regular schedule until we go to court.”

And though they finalized their divorce while Leah was in her treatment facility, Jeremy Calvert and Leah reunited at the airport where he was waiting with their daughter Addie

“Thank you, so much,” a thrilled Leah said to Jeremy. “Really, thank you. I’m so excited to see her.”

Once she got back into the groove of things, Leah happily explained to her friends and family what she learned while she was away.

“My life’s never been on a schedule ever, and for once, I got to get myself on a schedule so I can get my kids on a schedule,” she said smiling.

The mom seemed like a whole new person, kissing her girls and playing with them in the park. But reality came crashing down when it was time to talk with Corey about their custody situation. Leah asked that Corey come alone — aka leave his wife, Miranda, at home — but he didn’t comply.

“At the end of the day I cannot control his behavior. I can only control mine,” an upset Leah declared. She drove off, refusing to meet with Corey when Miranda was there for fear that they’d gang up on her.

“I don’t understand. As much as I do for her kids and I get treated like this,” a hurt Miranda told her husband. Things could get awkward when these three are forced to face each other in the reunion special.
