We'll be playing this on repeat! John Mayer is such a fan of Beyonce's hit anthem "XO," he officially recorded a cover of the jam and released it on his SoundClound account.
In a blast sent out to his fans on Friday, May 23, the singer's team wrote in an email: "Fresh off the road in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Korea, here's some new music from John performing Beyonce's 'XO.'"
Mayer also took to his Instagram to share the cover art of the song, seeking fans approval with the caption: "I recorded a version of Beyonce's 'XO.' Listen on soundcloud now. Link is in my Instagram profile. Hope you like."
The cover is clearly a more acoustic version, sticking to Mayer's usual tone and includes the piano, guitar, and harmonica. Mayer gave Queen Bey a shout out last month on Twitter—"The best thing about Beyoncé? The break in her voice on the first 'baby, love me lights out' in XO. Real and raw," he wrote.
Katy Perry's ex, 36, first covered the song live onstage in Adelaide, Australia, and is releasing the track officially on iTunes Tuesday, May 26.
