The rocker, 50, did not reveal any other details, or elaborate on what the "other stuff" might be.

NIN last released a record in 2013, Hesitation Marks, and toured extensively to promote the album.

Reznor, the man behind the industrial band known for its visually stunning concerts, told Rolling Stone in June that he was working on some new tunes. “I’ve been messing around with some things,” he said at the time. “It’s not for a thing, it’s not a record I’m trying to finish in a month. It’s more just a feeling around in the dark and seeing what sounds interesting. It’s nice to do that every few years to try and reinvent and discover and try to learn about yourself and what feels exciting to you as an artist.”

The Oscar-winning musician has been busy since releasing his last album and touring to support it. Reznor and How to Destroy Angels bandmate Atticus Ross scored the 2014 film Gone Girl, which earned a Golden Globe nod for Best Original Score. (The duo previously won an Academy Award for scoring 2011’s The Social Network.)

Reznor is currently working with Apple on its Beats 1 internet radio station.
