It was a rough day in court for Bethenny Frankel on Wednesday, May 28. The TV personality and mother of 4-year-old daughter Bryn took the stand for the first time in her custody case against ex Jason Hoppy.
The pair are in the middle of a messy court battle after splitting in December 2012. Throughout her testimony, the talk show host, 43, struggled to hold back tears, breaking down and crying at several points as she relived her painful divorce proceedings.
Frankel and Hoppy were forced to live under the same roof after Hoppy reportedly refused to leave their NYC pad, and the experience certainly wasn't a pleasant one for the former Real Housewives of New York star.
"Jason said to me, 'Get ready, we are going to war. It's over. We're done," Frankel recalled. "He would leave the house in shambles. There would be dishes everywhere. He would pee and poop and leave it in the toilets. He would hold Bryn, and he would say, 'You're finished, you're done. I'm going to ruin you.'"
Frankel claimed Hoppy's taunting happened numerous times in front of her daughter, and that he often tried to get the little girl to turn against her.
"He would say, 'Mommy should be Ursula the witch. She's a great witch. You be the princess, I'll be the prince, Mommy will be the witch,'" the Skinnygirl cocktails creator said through tears.
The couple married in March 2010, and their romance was chronicled on the reality series Bethenny Ever After.
A source tells Us Weekly, "Bethenny is trying to just keep pushing forward. She's in a good place right now."
