Ha! Like millions of like-minded women and gay men, Parks and Recreation comedian Retta has had a fond obsession with Joe Manganiello for some time now. The actress, has hilariously tweeted the True Blood hunk, detailing their pretend romance for years. Shortly after Us Weekly broke news that Manganiello, 37, is dating Sofia Vergara, Retta tells Us in an exclusive statement that she and Manganiello have decided to consciously uncouple.
"It is with a heavy heart that I learn of Joe Manganiello aka my wolfy Twitter boo is seeing one Ms. Sofia Vergara. As with any (pretend) conscious uncoupling there is still much love and my Mellow Nello (that was what I called my boo in my head) will always hold a special place in my Twitter heart," the funny lady tells Us.
In case you missed it, back in 2012, Retta exchanged a series of tweets with Yvette Nicole Brown and Octavia Spencer detailing her faux relationship with Manganiello.
"Hey @unfoRETTAble! Found your boyfriend, @joemanganiello 😉 #jealousmuch?” Community star Brown first wrote in a string of tweets, captioning a photo of herself with the hunk. Retta hilariously replied: "Nah, not really b/c Joey and I know what we have. And yeah 'Joey' cause that's where WE'RE at. Nicknames. @yvettenbrown @joemanganiello."
Oscar winner Spencer then joined in on the fun, tweeting the ladies, "@unfoRETTAble @yvettenbrown @joemanganiello hold on you man stealing 2 timer, LOL! howdy gals." Retta then responded to all the gals, tweeting at them and Manganiello, "Joey thinks u girls r so funny. He loves our friendship. Off to pick out our new bed. Kisses."
The handsome actor himself then chimed in: "@octaviaspencer @yvettenbrown @unfoRETTAble Ladies, ladies, ladies! Please! Can't we all get along here! #FourWay."
Retta isn't the only celeb to weigh in on the new budding romance, which Us Weekly exclusively broke news of on July 7. Vergara's Modern Family costars also took to Twitter on July 9, joking they too had dated Manganiello.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson tweeted: "All these rumors are crazy… Here's the truth: I'M actually dating @SofiaVergara…it happened after @JoeManganiello & I broke up," while Eric Stonestreet added, ""@jessetyler @SofiaVergara oh okay. that's cool. Well, now @JoeManganiello and I are dating. Sooooo. Yaaaaaa."
The new couple are clearly all good with all the fun and games—Manganiello retweeted Ferguson's tweet and Vergara replied to all with a mere, "what????!!!!"
