Welcome back, J-Love! Jennifer Love Hewitt has been taking a well-deserved break after giving birth to daughter Autumn James in late November — and secretly marrying her baby daddy, boyfriend Brian Hallisay, shortly before their Autumn’s arrival. But the newlywed first-time mother inched back into the limelight via the Ellen DeGeneres Show for a Tuesday, April 1 chat.
Now four months old, little Autumn is “fantastic,” the Client List star, 34, gushed to Ellen DeGeneres. “She’s sleeping better now, not so much in the beginning, which was a little rough. But, she’s a great sleeper now.” Hewitt added to DeGeneres that her daughter “loves your show and she loves Pharrell and Drake. She’s big into hip-hop and Latin music for some reason! She does the Dougie! The second the show comes on and you start dancing, she does this weird kick thing with her leg and she gets her little chair. She loves it!”
And, about that hush-hush wedding her costar Hallisay? “I got married . . . Five days before she was born, basically,” Hewitt said. (Us Weekly was first to break news of the star’s engagement, pregnancy, Autumn’s subsequent birth and her parents’ wedding.)
“It was just the two of us,” she said. “And then we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond because that’s what married people do.”
“It was really sweet,” she said of the low-key nuptials, adding that Hallisay, 35, is “an awesome, incredible father and a great husband and I just feel really lucky!”
