Sweet — and heartbreaking. Country star Joey Feek — who is nearing the end of her battle with cancer — played an adorable game of dress-up with her 21-month-old daughter, Indiana, in new Facebook photos posted on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
“Hand-made pigtails and a second-hand tricycle,” the caption reads underneath the sweet split photo of Feek, 40, and her little girl, both wearing matching princess crown hats with long pigtails.
The country singer’s husband, Rory, shared an update on his wife’s condition on Sunday, Nov. 29, revealing that she can no longer get out of bed.
“My wife is braver than me,” he wrote on his blog, One Life to Live. “My wife is very strong. So is her will to live. Especially with a little one who gets excited every morning to see her. She can no longer get out of bed. But she is beautiful.”
Joey has been battling stage IV cervical cancer since last year. She announced in October that she was stopping chemotherapy treatments, and subsequently began receiving hospice care at home.
On Monday, Nov. 23, Rory shared a post in which he recalled an emotional moment with Joey as they looked through pictures of their baby girl.
“I want to raise our baby,” she cried. “I want to be the one to teach her.”
