British BFFs! Pippa Middleton and Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery became fast friends on Thursday, June 26.
The 30-year-old little sister to the Duchess of Cambridge and her brother, James, 27, attended the 2014 Wimbledon Championships in London, where they were seated behind Dockery, 32, and her boyfriend John Dineen.
The foursome got along famously as they were seen making introductions, chatting, and laughing away at the tennis classic.
The Middletons had met Dockery before, as their sister and her royal husband are reportedly big fans of Downton Abbey. “Pippa Middleton and James Middleton, Kate’s sister and brother, came to visit the set a few years ago,” Dockery told Vanity Fair in February. “I think during [season] two… it was a long time ago. They are friends of Alastair Bruce who is our historical adviser and the royal correspondent [for Sky News], so he’s had a lot of involvement with the royal family. That’s why they came. And it was shortly after the [royal] wedding. It was amazing talking to them. And I hear that Will and Kate are fans, too, which is great.”
Pippa, who recently sat down with NBC’s Matt Lauer for her first TV interview, looked classically chic at the sporty affair, wearing a black-and-white floral dress and a cream blazer, both by CH Carolina Herrera. She shielded her face from the sun in a pair of oversized shades.
Her brother James looked perfectly put together in a fitted blue suit with a lighter blue shirt and a red patterned tie. The male Middleton is in the sweets business, currently leading a start-up called Boomf, which prints Instagram photos on marshmallows. He is also dating TV personality and actress Donna Air.
Dockery sported a more toned-down style, in a navy jacket over a black V-neck dress. Her beau wore a navy blue suit with a white shirt and a blue tie, accessorized with a pair of aviator sunglasses.
The actress has been dating her Irish businessman love for about nine months, since they were first spotted together last September. He was reportedly introduced to Dockery by a mutual friend.
Pippa looked to be having the time of her life with James, Dockery, and Dineen, presumably connecting with the Lady Mary actress about life as a member of the British aristocracy. Unfortunately for the world-famous bridesmaid, however, Dockery eventually turned her focus to the game and left Pippa to entertain herself.
