Twerk it, Ellen! Nicki Minaj stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show on Wednesday, Sept. 10, and saw a whole new side of a booty-shaking Ellen DeGeneres.
“Let’s talk about ‘Anaconda,'” DeGeneres said to Minaj of her chart-topping, butt-celebrating new single and its super-sexy accompanying music video. “All of your songs are hugely successful. ‘Super Bass’ was hugely successful. But this, and this hasn’t even been out that long, and it has 115 million [views on YouTube]. A hundred and fifteen million views!”
The video to “Anaconda” made headlines with Minaj’s sexy dance moves and army of scantily clad backup dancers, but the performer, 31, claimed she’s still astonished by the song and video’s success. “I really don’t know how that happened,” she marveled to DeGeneres, 56.
After calling Minaj out on her claim, repeatedly saying, “Yes, you do,” DeGeneres added, “I’m just saying it, cause I wanna help you be successful. You’re very successful. If you would’ve put the version on, the one that I was in, the one that I shot with you, it would’ve had more views. So, I’m gonna show them.”
Minaj, who is releasing her next “Anaconda”-led studio album The Pinkprint on Nov. 24, questioned DeGeneres’ decision, saying, “Are you sure they should see it? I mean, cause I wanted to keep it… I thought it was just between me and you.”
The women finally agreed to share the video with the audience, playing DeGeneres’ hilarious take on “Anaconda.” Take a look at the spoof and see Minaj’s reaction to it in the video above!
