Monica Lewinsky Corrects Beyonce’s Raunchy “Partition” Lyrical Tribute to Bill Clinton Affair, Talks Hillary Clinton

Monica Lewinsky and Beyonce

Monica Lewinsky wants to teach Beyonce a lesson …in grammar. In her eye-opening essay for June's Vanity Fair, President Bill Clinton's former intern-mistress, now 40, acknowledges her worldwide infamy and unique place in pop culture. Lewinsky says she gets recognized on a daily basis—and, yes, she has heard Beyonce's nearly X-rated raunchy recent hit, "Partition." That track, from Beyonce's titular fifth album, all about a woman having sex with her man in the backseat of a chauffeur-driven car, includes the instantly iconic lyric "He Monica Lewinsky'd all over my gown." (That, of course, references a blue dress worn by Lewinsky featuring a semen stain left by her lover Clinton, now 67.)

Writes Lewinsky to the R&B pop superstar "Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant 'Bill Clinton'd all on my gown,' not 'Monica Lewinsky'd.'"

The essay also delves into Lewinksy's reclusive years after the 1998 brouhaha, including her decision to put off the announcement of several projects until after the 2012 election—and, more recently, her concerns over going public as Bill Clinton's wife, Hillary Clinton, possibly re-enters a presidential election in 2016. "Recently I've found myself gun-shy yet again, fearful of 'becoming an issue' should [Hillary] decide to ramp up her campaign. But should I put my life on hold for another 8 to 10 years?"

She also acknowledges a surfaced correspondence in which Hillary, writing to a friend, called Lewinsky a "narcissistic loony toon."

"My first thought [was] if that's the worst thing she said, I should be so lucky," she writes. (Clinton was also said to have blamed herself in part for her husband's affair.) Upon further thought, however, "I find her impulse to blame the Woman—not only me, but herself—troubling . . . Courageous or foolish, maybe, but narcissistic and loony?"
