Adele Pranks Adele Impersonators by Performing in Disguise: Watch

There’s only one true Adele. The British songstress went undercover at a recent Adele impersonator competition in a clip from the Adele at the BBC special that aired on Friday, Nov. 20, and the results were truly amazing.

The “Hello” singer teamed up with talk show host Graham Norton to prank several of the other competitors, donning a prosthetic chin and nose and going by the name of “Jenny.”

“I’m going to talk slow and calm like this,” Adele practiced prior to her surprise appearance at the competition, using a lower voice.

The songstress also wore long black gloves to cover up her telltale tattoos.

When the 27-year-old singer joined the rest of the impersonators backstage, she mostly kept to herself as the other women — and one man! — commented on her new album, 25.

“Can’t wait for the new album,” one impersonator shared excitedly.

“She’s really taking her time,” Adele as Jenny quipped.

Another impersonator laughed and dared the real Adele to “try saying that to her face.”

Later on, after the women had waited for quite a bit backstage, Adele as Jenny began to feel faint, and blamed it on her nerves. So it came as a huge shock to the rest of the impersonators when she took to the stage and, after a small hesitation, completely killed her 2008 cover of “Make You Feel My Love.”
