Katy Perry is done being hot ‘n’ cold. The “Roar” singer was photographed looking somber and tired on Thursday, Feb. 27, since she and beau John Mayer split.
Newly single Perry, 29, wore a black and red ensemble as she joined friends for dinner at Jitlada Restaurant in L.A. In the x17 photos, the entertainer donned a multi-colored skirt, feathered top, matching coat, and tights. She kept her eye makeup minimal, but still opted for a bold red lip.
Earlier that day, Mayer also surfaced after the couple’s split announcement. The “Say” singer dressed casually as he was photographed leaving a New York City office. But while Perry was drowning her sorrows with pals, Mayer got right back to work with a performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers later that evening. (Mayer was only a musical guest on the NBC talk show, so there was no opportunity to chat about his love life.)
As previously reported, sources confirmed to Us earlier this week that Perry and Mayer called it quits after nearly two years of dating. “She’s stressed about the tour, they’ve been fighting. It is probably for the best, because she is going to be on tour for forever,” a source told Us. “Of course this happens all the time, I can’t keep track anymore. But for now they are done.”
But although the twosome had been arguing, a second insider told Us they parted on good terms. The breakup was “mutual” and “extremely amicable.” They “made the mature decision that it was the right time,” another source added.
