Batteries aren't required for the beloved games of Garcelle Beauvais' 6-year-old twins, Jax and Jaid. "They're into baseball and football," the Small Time actress tells Us Weekly of her sons with agent ex-husband Mike Nilon. "We don't have a PlayStation or a Wii because I want them to be outside."
This summer, Beauvais intends to keep her sons active, and has indoor activities at the ready so rain won't dampen their school vacation play dates. "We'll go bowling or do arts and crafts at home," says the busy mom.
While Beauvais does allow her sons to play educational puzzle and word games on an iPad, she advocates for activities that keep them moving in their free time—and says the family has been cooking together at home.
"They are crazy about [the] ocean, planets, anything on Discovery [Channel]," says Beauvais. "We also watch Jamie Oliver's [TV show] 15-Minute Meals. They watch all the time! We tried some of the dishes."
If sports don't pan out as a hobby for her boys, mom Beauvais says she'd swap their sports uniforms for chef's whites. "Nothing wrong with that—then I wouldn't have to cook," she jokes to Us. "I would love it!"
