If the September issue of Brides magazine is any indication, Ciara is going to make one beautiful bride. The singer, 28, modeled a designer wedding gown for the latest copy of the publication, on newsstands July 8.
The new mom to Future Zahir Wilburn, 2 months, looks gorgeous on the cover of the bridal magazine, donning an embroidered Chantilly lace Reem Acra gown with sheer sleeves. The delicate dress is nipped at the waist and features a high neck and voluminous skirt.
Set against a light blue background, Ciara carries a bouquet of white roses, drawing attention to the massive 15-carat diamond engagement ring that she has been wearing since October 2013, when her rapper fiance Future proposed.
"Our label put us together," she dished to Brides about meeting Future. "I went into the studio strictly to work, but he was very calm and sweet, a gentleman… I knew right away that he was different. Now he's my best friend in the world, my partner."
She also opened up about her man's romantic proposal in the Big Apple: "We were in New York for my birthday, and he had a show that night. As soon as I woke up the next morning, it went down. It was so thoughtful—the best birthday ever. I had no idea it was coming."
Inside the issue, Ciara has a Carrie Bradshaw moment, trying on bridal dresses from coveted designers such as Tara LaTour and Mark Zunzino.
The "I'm Out" singer has yet to reveal what she will wear for her own big day, which is expected to take place in the coming months. Ciara told Brides that her nuptials will be "indoors and black tie. For the palette, I'm not into loud colors. I like black and white, classic and clean."
"There will be five or six [bridesmaids] and two matrons of honor [including La La Anthony]," she continued. "They’ll all wear the same color, but in different styles to suit their personalities. I want my ladies to look amazing!" One of said "ladies" may be pal Kim Kardashian, whose European nuptials to Kanye West in May Ciara had to miss, as she awaited her son's birth.
In addition to the appearance by La La, the hip-hop couple will also celebrate with some other famous faces. "A few of our friends will sing," she said. "We'll have a great DJ—good old soul mixed with new stuff. You want people to say, 'This is my jam!'"
