This fall there’s another blonde diva taking a seat on The Voice‘s big red chairs—Gwen Stefani! While the No Doubt singer, 44, will likely be the only female coach in season 7, she’s well aware of the great ladies who have come before her.
After original coach Christina Aguilera tweeted Stefani earlier in the week, congratulating her on the new gig, the “Hollaback Girl” singer replied, “@xtina congrats on yr baby bunny Apollo & i cant wait to hang out w all the crazies #thevoice #surroundedbyboys gx.”
Stefani, who gave birth to her third son, Apollo, in late February, also shared a throwback picture with the “Beautiful” singer, 33.
It was Aguilera who spilled the beans on Twitter that Stefani had officially joined The Voice family after weeks of rumors. The mother of three confirmed the news on Instagram writing, “it’s true! gx @nbcthevoice,” along with a photo of her holding up the show’s signature peace sign.
Aguilera has taken seasons 6 and 7 off from the hit NBC competition series, and during that time has announced her engagement to boyfriend Matt Rutler, her second pregnancy, and her plans for a new album. Colombian superstar Shakira took over for Aguilera in season 6 after appearing as a coach on the show in season 4.
Pharrell Williams has been confirmed to sit alongside Stefani in season 7, but original coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have not officially signed on yet. That didn’t stop the new powerhouse lady in their lives from throwing them a little friendly competition.
“@Pharrell @adamlevine @blakeshelton @CarsonDaly you crazies ready for me? #thevoice gx,” she tweeted on April 30.
