Nicole Kidman opened up in the new issue of The Edit.

Nicole Kidman's personal life has been chock-full of soaring highs and devastating lows. The Oscar winner opened up about her struggles and peaks in the new issue of The Edit, detailing all that she has been through to get to the happy place she is in now.

Kidman, 47, spoke about one of her husband Keith Urban's recent concerts, when he stopped the show in Australia to dedicate a song to his wife, saying into the microphone, "Eight years, baby girl. This song is for you. I love you so much."

While the romantic gesture was swoon-worthy, it wasn't always sunshine and rainbows for Kidman, as she struggled emotionally after her 2001 divorce from Tom Cruise. It was years before she found love again with Urban, now 46.

"I had two girlfriends sitting with me [at the concert] and they were like, 'Bitch!'" Kidman told The Edit about the on-stage expression of love. "I went, 'Hey! I've been to hell and back!'"

For the actress and her musician love, it is better late than never that they found one another.

"Keith always says, 'We're lucky we met late in life,'" the Grace of Monaco star continued. "'The sadness of that is we can't have six kids together, but the greatness of that is [we are done] with all the other stuff, so now we are totally present for this.' That's a great thing to hear from a man."

While they may not share a brood of six little ones, Kidman and Urban welcomed daughter Sunday Rose in July 2008 and daughter Faith Margaret in December 2010.

"They say your art gets affected when you have a family, but I'd much rather have a family," Kidman told The Edit. "Having experienced the greatest awards and accolades, the idea of being alone with that doesn't work for me. It may for somebody else, but it's not for me."
