The pop stars are aligning! Britney Spears and Lady Gaga are looking to team up to record a duet in the not-too-distant future, a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

"It'll happen soon," the insider says of the superstar collaboration. In fact, the two discussed the possibility backstage at Spears' Feb. 1 Las Vegas concert, which Gaga attended as a VIP.

"During the song 'Till the World Ends,' Gaga walked to the pit and tossed Britney roses," an eyewitness tells Us of the "Applause" singer, 27, and the "Hold It Aganst Me" performer, 32. "Brit blew her a kiss!"

Mother Monster herself tweeted about the show less than 24 hours later, sharing a photo of herself in Spears' dressing room. "Me and Brit Brit," she captioned the shot. "She looked so gorgeous, the show was so much fun, and her dad gave us THE BEST BBQ. It was a #MonsterParty!"

The "Toxic" singer first expressed interest in collaborating with Gaga back in December 2013, during an online chat with fans. "I would do a duet with Lady Gaga," the mom of two shared. "I think that would be a lot of fun. I think she's very different and interesting and intricate, and I like her as an artist."

Gaga was quick to reply via Twitter. Her response? "Let's do this bitch, it's time."
