According to multiple reports, the couple was arrested on Monday, April 28, at the New Canaan, Conn. home they share. The singers were reportedly brought in on "some sort of a domestic violence charge," sources at the New Canaan Police Department told NBCConnecticut.

While there are few details to the charges as of yet, the Simon & Garfunkel alum and the "What I Am" singer, 48, reportedly engaged in a dispute this weekend. Police in New Canaan said they responded to a 911 hang up call that was made Saturday night.

According to the AP, officers responded to a "family dispute" at the home on Saturday evening. The publication reported that at the couple's court appearance on Monday, Simon said the commotion was a "rare argument" between the couple. The two reportedly held hands and said they did not feel threatened by one another.

In a statement released through her lawyer, Brickell said, "I got my feelings hurt and picked a fight with my husband. The police called it disorderly. Thank God it’s orderly now."
