The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, and Gisele Bundchen is going to box them off.
As soon as Under Armour announced the supermodel, 34, as its first non-athlete spokesperson on Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Twitter community responded immediately — both positively and negatively. Not that such a response dismayed the Brazilian beauty or the sportswear brand one bit.
Just two days later, on Sept. 4, Under Armour released their latest “I Will What I Want” campaign video featuring the former Victoria’s Secret Angel, kicking, jumping, and punching her super-toned body into a sweat. Bundchen, married to Tom Brady since 2009, wore an ebony Under Armour sports bra and matching knee-length sports leggings from the performance line’s new collection.
While the mom to Benjamin, 4, and Vivian, 1, showed of her amazing abs — and perfect ombre blonde ponytail — those Twitter comments from just the day before were projected on the walls around her. “Under Armour! WTF?” read one, while another asked, “Is modeling now a sport?” But Bundchen just kept on going, earning her accolades by the end: “Bravo! Gisele can do anything.”
“This incredibly inspirational initiative serves as a powerful reminder of all the amazing things women can do despite the pressures and criticisms we may encounter,” Bundchen said in a statement. “Having the strength to tune out negativity and remain focused on what I want gives me the will and confidence to achieve my goals.”
