Not what it looked like. Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving finally took to Twitter to address the cheating rumors directed at Kehlani Parrish after she revealed she attempted suicide.
In a series of since-deleted tweets (captured by The Shade Room in the Instagram below), Irving insisted that he and Kehlani were not dating when musician PartyNextDoor posted a picture to Instagram of himself and the singer in bed together.
And unlike his supposed friend Chris Brown, who threw shade on Kehlani in a bitter Twitter attack on Tuesday, March 29, Irving insisted he felt nothing but love for his ex, and hoped she and her family recovered quickly from the recent drama.
"It's been hard to see what's been going on and not address the truth. I do not justify the picture or what dude did to try and spark all of this nonsense that could have been avoided, but me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out," the basketball player, 24, wrote.
"It's unfortunate that it's received so much attention but it's become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood," he added.
"Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family," he continued. "My only focus the Game I love to play every night."
In a post shared from her hospital bed, Kehlani, 20, also denied the cheating rumors.
"No one was ever cheated on and I'm not a bad person," she insisted. "Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding."
