West—who's been friends with the comedian for several years—performed "New Slaves" and "Jesus Walks." The singer also jumped offstage into the crowd and rapped "Gold Digger."

Chappelle, 40, famously ended his Comedy Central series Chappelle's Show in 2005. This week, he finally broke his silence about the abrupt exit during an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman.

"Listen, here it is. Technically, I never quit. I'm seven years late for work," he joked on June 17. The entertainer traveled to South Africa after leaving his show, but admitted to Letterman he wasn't there for too long. "I was there for two weeks," he said. "I mean, there's not too many good hiding places left in America."

That same day, Chappelle also made the rounds at another TV program—Today. He hilariously crashed the morning news show during a segment with co-hosts Matt Lauer and Tamron Hall. He banged on the glass wall from outside and held up a sign trying to promote his Radio City shows.
