Kelly Osbourne Says Kim Kardashian’s Vogue Cover Looks Like “Prom Magazine” But Slams Haters as “Disgusting”

Kelly Osbourne attends the 2014 Screen Actor's Guild Awards
Kelly Osbourne understands why people don't like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Vogue cover, but she thinks the hatred they're facing is "disgusting"

#TeamKimye? Amid ongoing chatter and criticism about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's controversial Vogue cover, fellow E! star Kelly Osbourne took to her blog on Tuesday, March 25, to weigh in with her own opinion on the matter.

"I don't think there has been this much controversy over an American Vogue cover since 2008, with their April issue featuring LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen!" the Fashion Police star, 29, wrote. (The cover in question — which featured basketball player James baring his teeth and wrapping his arm around Bundchen's waist — was criticized by many for appearing to perpetuate racial stereotypes, with some likening the shot to the iconic King Kong image of Fay Wray.)

That outrage, in Osbourne's opinion, was overblown — as is the anger over Kimye's April 2014 cover, though she can see why some readers are upset. "There is no denying that it looks like a really beautiful picture for the cover of Prom magazine so I understand why the fashionistas of the world would not like it," she blogged.

That said, she thinks the vitriol is a little extreme. "People are even going so far as to cancel their subscriptions or bloggers [are] taking down the link to Vogue magazine. I don't want to even go into the awful things people have said about them," she wrote. "I find this disgusting. Regardless of whether or not you think Kim and Kanye are worthy enough [to] be on the cover…it's not your decision to make. I do believe that would be up to Anna Wintour."

Of Wintour, Vogue's famed editor-in-chief, Osbourne added: "Vogue would not be what it is today without her foresight. She knows what she is doing and no one can make her do anything. Sooooooo to all you people bashing Vogue, Kim, Kanye, and Anna, stop and really think for a second because I am willing to bet my life that whether you recognize it or not, somewhere hidden deep down inside of all of us is the dream of being on the cover of VOGUE!!!"

She went on: "So back off, stop s–tting on people's dreams that have come true and try for once to be happy for others' success. Stop raining on their parade!"
