Merhba, Brangelina! Angelina Jolie and fiance Brad Pitt paid a visit to Malta recently to scout locations for an upcoming project. Arriving in the European country on Saturday, June 7, the superstar couple traveled by yacht to the island of Gozo, where they were staying, a source tells Us Weekly.
"Angelina and Brad looked beautiful when they boarded the yacht," the eyewitness says. "He had a white suit on, and she was in a long black dress."
The next morning, the parents of six headed out together to assess potential film sites in an area known as Ta' Cenc Bay. "Angelina was taking notes and was really interested in everything their guide had to say," an onlooker tells Us, noting that the Maleficent star wore a hat to keep the sun out of her eyes.
Later that same day, she and her husband-to-be enjoyed lunch by the sea on the hotel's private beach before heading out again to Comino, the smallest of the islands that make up the Maltese archipelago. A source says they used a tourist boat to inspect the area and returned after about an hour.
"Angelina seemed to be leading the discussions at each location and giving directions to other members of the crew," the insider tells Us, adding that Jolie spoke with her team about technical aspects like lighting and filming.
The name of the project for which the actress was scouting is not known, but reports suggest the movie is the one she wrote. "It's not a big movie, it's not an action movie," she previously told Extra of the film, which would be her first onscreen reunion with Pitt since Mr. & Mrs. Smith. "It's the kind of movie we love but aren't often cast in."
The couple departed Malta on Monday, June 9, and jetted off to London, where Jolie co-hosted the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict on June 10.
