‘I Am Cait’ Recap: Scott Disick Addresses His Relationship With Kourtney Kardashian

The Lord is in the house! Kourtney Kardashian‘s newly sober baby daddy, Scott Disick, visited Caitlyn Jenner on the road for a slightly awkward bonding session during the Sunday, April 3, episode of I Am Cait. Meanwhile, Candis Cayne got her groove back and went on a lukewarm date with her personal trainer, while Chandi Moore opened up about her troubled past.

Also, bless Kate Bornstein, who adorably asked “Who is Scott?” before he arrived. Clearly, she hasn’t been keeping up with the Kardashians.

Are Scott and Kourtney Back Together?

Meet Me in St. Louis! (Sorry, had to.) Scott Disick joined Caitlyn in the Show Me State after Kourtney confirmed via phone that he’s sober and “seeing the kids every day,” and he seemed thrilled to chillax. In fact, he ended up bonding up a storm with Cait’s friends, and even asked questions regarding her transition.

“My kids don’t really know exactly what’s going on,” Scott told Jenny Boylan. “I don’t know if they’re old enough. My daughter has met her, was totally OK — didn’t really, I don’t think, grasp that that was Grandpa, now it’s Grandma. My son was a little more nervous.”

Jenny set Scott’s mind at ease by reminding him that parents usually stress about these things more than kids, and then peppered him with questions about his relationship status. And yep, she totally asked if he and Kourtney will get back together. “I don’t know,” Scott said. “I have absolutely no control over everybody and anybody else other than myself. All I can do is stay on the right path, and if things are meant to be, I believe that they will be.”

Scott Talks Hardware

Scott just went there. While I Am Cait usually dances around the topic of reassignment surgery, Scott asked the group point-blank about the procedure. “Is that a talked-about thing, who’s gone full circle, and who hasn’t?” he asked. “It’s unbelievable that the body can do this. It’s almost like when you build a car, you can change the wheels up. It’s like God made the body able to do it.”

The ladies seemed fine with Scott’s joke-y attitude, though Jenny did point out, “We’re not about an operation — we’re about soul.”

To be fair to Scott, he had a legitimate reason for being curious: “People ask me these types of questions, and I would like to have these kinds of answers,” he said. “Especially for the straight person who’s not understanding [about] anything.”

Scott Gets Real About His Drinking

Poor Scott! Despite coming all the way to St. Louis, Caitlyn pretty much ignored him — but they did manage to break the ice while having a chat about Scott’s sobriety. “I used to always think that when I was drunk, the real me came out. And I always thought the real me was a bad person,” he told Caitlyn during a quick bonding moment. “And I’ve realized that substances make people something else. It’s not who they really are. I’ve been able to kind of forgive myself for all the things. Now I’m focusing on actually being me. I’ve just been happy for the first time in a long time.”

Scott ended up getting Caitlyn’s full support, and they left on good terms (and with a supercute hug).

Candis Has Another Huge Dating Blow

Get it, Candis! Caitlyn’s best friend went on a post-gym date with Andrew, her personal trainer who was laying on allll kinds of charm. “Andrew’s kinda surprising me because we’re actually really connecting, and I’m attracted to him, and it seems like he’s flirting back,” Candis said.

Andrew seemed totally chill about Candis’ identity as a trans woman, but when she floated the idea of kissing him, he said, “I don’t think I can go there just yet.” Candis asked if his hesitation was due to “the trans thing,” and he said, “Honestly, that’s a big issue, yes.” So disappointing.

Chandi Opens Up About Her Past

Chandi wanted Cait to better understand the journey of African American trans women, and spoke candidly about her own past. “I was running around with the wrong crowd,” Chandi told her friend during a private moment. “I got into some heavy stuff. Doing some white collar crimes, and writing checks and doing credit cards and stuff like that. And I ended up going to prison. I was scared to death at that time — maybe 10 of us who were openly homosexual (because that’s what they called us), up against maybe 1,500 men.”

As sad as this story is, Caitlyn ended up having a much better understanding of Chandi’s reality, as well as the reality of many African American trans women in her same position.
