Summertime Sadness! Lana Del Rey and her fiance, Barrie-James O'Neill, have split, she revealed in a reported interview with the German-language Swiss paper 20 Minuten.

Asked about their engagement—which Us Weekly first revealed in January—the frequently somber 28-year-old singer replied, "We are currently not together." Pressed to elaborate, she added, "He is a wonderful person. But there are some things he has to deal with."

"I will not explain it in detail," she told the paper. "This was hard on our relationship. I no longer felt free. We'll see how it goes."  (A rep for the singer had no comment.)

The "Young and Beautiful" chanteuse also hinted at trouble in her recent interview with the Guardian, which featured her now-infamous quote, "I wish I was dead already." Speaking about her relationship with O'Neill, who sings and plays guitar for the Scottish band Kassidy, she said, "We have a difficult road."

"He's a very dark character," she continued. "He has months on end where it's a really dark stretch of writing and waiting, he has his total own world, so…"

Del Rey and O'Neill reportedly started dating in 2011. Us revealed earlier this year that they had gotten engaged last summer.
