Step aside, Ashton Kutcher! Mila Kunis has a new leading man in the upcoming sci-fi flick Jupiter Ascending, and it is none other than America’s collective boyfriend, Channing Tatum.
Kunis and Tatum star in the thriller alongside other famous faces such as Douglas Booth, Eddie Redmayne, and Sean Bean. Warner Bros. offered a sneak peek at the duo in a hot new trailer, which made its debut on Friday, Sept. 26.
“You’ve been taught that the birthplace of the human race is Earth,” the clip begins. “But it’s not.”
The trailer then moves to a futuristic cityscape and the first shots of Kunis, 31. She plays Jupiter Jones, a regular woman living on Earth, who has secret ties to the galaxy’s ruling family.
As she learns of her planet’s status and the truth about supernatural life, she encounters a superhuman character named Caine Wise, who is played by Tatum, 34. With interspersing shots of explosions, spacecrafts, and aliens, he informs Jupiter of the dangers ahead and of her true identity.
Tatum and Kunis’ characters grow closer and wrap the trailer in an intimate and hilarious moment. “Your majesty, I have more in common with a dog than I have with you,” Caine says quietly to Jupiter. “I’ve love dogs,” she responds. “I’ve always loved dogs.”
Written and directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski, Jupiter Ascending is due out in February 2015 after being delayed from its original July 2014 schedule. Take a look at the latest trailer in the video above!
