Their very own bling ring. Longtime Bachelor host Chris Harrison revealed in a new interview what happens to those mega Neil Lane engagement rings when Bachelor and Bachelorette couples split.
“The rings I actually have at home,” Harrison, 44, joked to Entertainment Weekly in an interview on Monday, March 14. “They’re on a necklace and I’ll wear it around sometimes. I’ll wear it out [and] I have, like, 20 different engagement rings.”
Out of 20 seasons of The Bachelor and 11 seasons of The Bachelorette, only a handful of couples have remained together, including married pairs Trista and Ryan Sutter, Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried, Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici, and Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum. Jason Mesnick and his runner-up Molly Malaney, who was initially rejected for Melissa Rycroft at the final rose ceremony, also remain an item, as do season 11 Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and her final pick, Shawn Booth, who are happily engaged.
Of the couples who split, however, most of the rings go back to Neil Lane. “He just doesn’t even know it,” Harrison said of the jeweler. “There’s some rule, after a certain number of years, you get to keep it anyway. But after months … it goes back.”
Ben Higgins’ fiancée will be revealed on the season 20 finale of The Bachelor on Monday, March 14. Us Weekly previewed some of the details behind his ring, which is valued at $100,000. The sparkler is a 3-carat emerald-cut diamond set in platinum by none other than Lane.
“Ben told her she’s the most beautiful woman and he wants to wake up next to her every morning,” an insider told Us. “She said, ‘I’m the luckiest girl!’”
