Too cute! Savannah Guthrie had a baby shower last week and it was an emotional affair for all involved.
The Today show anchor, 42, was fêted on Monday, June 30, in New York City, surrounded by friends and family. She is expecting her first child with new husband Mike Feldman after she announced in March that she was four months pregnant.
The expecting mother teared up as she spoke to the guests at the event. “I have never felt in my life so much genuine joy for us, but also from all of you,” Guthrie said, accompanied by Feldman, 45. “I kinda just can’t get over it because when you say that you’re happy for us or you give us a hug or you rub the belly, I know you really mean it. That means so much to me and us.”
“We feel like God has just rained down blessings upon us,” she continued. “We are so thankful and just hope we can rise to the occasion and be good parents.”
The party was attended by famous faces including Hoda Kotb, Natalie Morales, Gayle King, Kathie Lee Gifford, Tamron Hall, and Jenna Bush Hager, and featured fun activities such as decorating onesies and completing crossword puzzles specially themed for Guthrie’s pregnancy.
Held at New York City’s The Glass Houses, Guthrie’s baby shower included yummy snacks of donuts, mini hot dogs, and soft pretzels. As for gifts, guests brought a book for the baby, as well as one to donate to the needy children through the charity Baby Buggy.
Due later this year, Guthrie married Feldman in a surprise ceremony in March 2014. The pair got engaged in May 2013 after dating for four years.
