The lesson of 2016: Baby bumps come in all shapes and sizes! Australian model Hannah Polites, who is six months pregnant, has been showing off her growing belly to her more than 1 million Instagram followers since March. But because people can be cruel, the 24-year-old lifestyle blogger has faced some serious backlash about her tiny tummy.
“Poor baby, eat more,” wrote one person on a May 16 selfie, while another worried, “The baby might come out OK and all good but most likely it’s going to come out small or with complications because that is not healthy.”
But Polites — who is due in September — would rather trust the medical community. “It’s truly shocking to read some of the comments regarding my health and that of my unborn baby, especially at a time where women are particularly vulnerable and can be more sensitive to bullying,” she told the Gold Coast Bulletin on May 13. “For the record, doctors have told me bub is healthy.”
The yoga and Pilates instructor added that her bundle of joy is 20 percent bigger than the average baby at six months.
