Joan Rivers “Has Been Moved Out of Intensive Care,” Daughter Melissa Rivers Says in New Statement

Melissa Rivers said in a new statement that her mother, Joan Rivers, has been moved out of intensive care at Mount Sinai Hospital

Joan Rivers' daughter, Melissa Rivers, continues to provide updates about her mother's condition. In her latest statement, released Wednesday, Sept. 3, she says the 81-year-old comedienne has been transferred to a private room at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

"My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable," the statement reads. "Thank you for your continued support."

Melissa has been offering near-daily bulletins since the Fashion Police host was first hospitalized on Thursday, Aug. 28, when complications arose during an outpatient procedure on her vocal cords. After being admitted to Mount Sinai that morning, Rivers was placed in a medically induced coma. 

Doctors began bringing the star out of the coma on Sunday, Aug. 31, but as of Tuesday, Sept. 2, she was still on life support

"My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world," Melissa said in an earlier statement. "Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery."
