"Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months," the Masterchef Junior judge, 49, wrote alongside a photo of his wife competing at an ironman race.

"We're together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes," he continued. "I'd especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they've done. Gx."

The celebrity chef first revealed that his wife, 41, was pregnant during an appearance on James Corden's The Late Late Show last month. The couple, married since 1996, are already parents of Megan Ramsay, 17, twins Jack Ramsay and Holly Ramsay, 16, and Matilda Ramsay, 14.

"I'm really nervous," he said at the time. "Obviously, I'm happy with another girl," he said. "Four girls. Four weddings. Four Sweet 16s. Four boyfriends."

Last year, Gordon opened up about his close bond with his kids during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — and how he makes them cook Thanksgiving dinner. "I have four amazing kids. We kind of delegate that kind of responsibility to them because I've been busting my ass off for years in the kitchen. Kids love cooking so I can sit back and put my feet up," he said.

Ramsay also has a no-cursing policy. "They don't curse," he told Jimmy Kimmel in March 2015. "I said, 'Look, cursing is not smart, it's an industry language and sometimes Daddy lets it slip … 20 times a day. So I came up with some really nice, sort of alternatives to curse words. So rather than saying the word 's–t,' which, you know, is not nice … 'Shitake'! Like the mushroom. It's not nice saying the word 'f–k,' so we say the word 'fructose.' 'Ass?' 'Asparagus!'"
