Big Easy wedding! Candice Accola and The Fray's Joe King tied the knot in New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 18, Us Weekly can confirm.
The newlyweds were feted by several of Accola's Vampire Diaries costars, including Paul Wesley, Kat Graham, Michael Trevino, and creator Julie Plec.
Ian Somerhalder sent a heartfelt message in his absence. "Candace and Joe- my brother, my sister. What a magical day this is for both of you. From the eye of the storm I am still with you in spirit!" he wrote via Instagram Saturday. "I am missing my home state of Louisiana and my city, the great city of New Orleans. Sending you so much love from my shoot in ATL- i'm working hard & I wish I could be there physically, but we have the rest of our lives to celebrate. I love you guys! So. Much."
King, 34, popped the question to the TVD actress, 27, in Florence, Italy in May 2013. "Cheers from the future Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Aaron King!" Accola captioned a picture with the guitarist-songwriter, as she showed off her gorgeous engagement ring.
Accola's TVD costar Nina Dobrev quickly chimed in about the proposal. "Dying right now! So excited/thrilled/happy/hyperventilating over your engagement! Match made in heaven!" she tweeted at the time. "What colors are we thinking for the bridesmaids dresses? Because yellow isn't a good color on me."
The bride-to-be was just as ecstatic. "The engagement was a complete surprise," Accola told Us Weekly while attending Midori's Happy Hour Style Event at The London in West Hollywood that June. "It was perfect and special and just for us."
This past August, Accola was the guest of honor at a white-and-gold-themed bridal shower just for her. She donned a blue button-up and white skirt reminiscent of a wedding gown and was feted by former CW costars Claire Holt and Kayla Ewell.
"So grateful for all these moms and daughters! Best bridal shower planners ever! #showeredwithlove," Accola gushed via Instagram. "Thx to everyone who came and showered me with love and light!" she later added. "#grateful #lightupthebride."
This is the first marriage for Accola. King shares daughters Ava and Elise with his ex-wife Julie.
